The Mandarin Mustangs will head out to challenge the Bolles Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mandarin's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Bolles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Mandarin was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Stanton on Monday. Everything went Mandarin's way against Stanton as Mandarin made off with a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won five contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Jack Bernard spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

04/16/24 @ Atlantic Coast | 2 |

On the hitting side, Mandarin got a massive performance out of CJ Murphy, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave Murphy a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was John Brooks, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.
Murphy wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Mandarin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for Mandarin: they were averaging 3.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.8.
Meanwhile, Bolles was not the first on the board last Thursday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over IMG Academy Gold.
Jaxson Richter tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Geist, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Will Arndt was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Mandarin is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. Bolles pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Mandarin might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Bolles when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Mandarin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
