Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the South Bend Clay Colonials walked away with it. They blew past the Knights 55-28 on the road on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but South Bend Clay sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
South Bend Clay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maliya Freeman led the charge by scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Freeman has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Delilah Castaneda, who scored 14 points.
South Bend Clay has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-17 record this season. As for Mishawaka Marian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.
South Bend Clay will take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South Bend St. Joseph focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Saturday. Mishawaka Marian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
