Saddleback Valley Christian extended the longest winning streak in San Joaquin this week by beating Animo Leadership, 60-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Saddleback Valley Christian took down the Aztec Eagles 60-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brandon Camarillo-Towles threw for 194 yards and four touchdowns in the win.
Charlie Morris was the best wideout in the league this week as Justin Reber's team topped Animo Leadership. Morris racked up three receptions for 104 yards. Trent Saharek helped Saddleback Valley Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 33 yards.
Derek Lewis was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 121 yards on 26 carries as Santa Clarita Christian bested Max Stevenson's team. Jonathan Saavedra also contributed to the rushing game with 80 yards on the ground.
Riley Babick provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Capistrano Valley Christian topped Xavier Prep. He completed 23 passes for 198 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 19 yards. Babick's favorite target this week was Ben Sukut, who caught 13 passes for 84 yards.
The Eagles' Babick and Sukut have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading San Joaquin in both passing and receiving yards. Babick has thrown for 1886 yards this season, while Sukut, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 73 catches for 991 yards. Saddleback Valley Christian's Forrest Lohman leads the league in rushing yards with 1438.
Lewis of the the Cardinals is only 14 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 147 carries Lewis has accumulated 986 yard this year.
Entering into this week's contest against Southlands Christian, Babick is short just 114 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
Dan Dodd's team's Sukut is only nine receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the the Eagles.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Eagles take on Southlands Christian. Capistrano Valley Christian is currently in first, while Dennis DiCamillo's team is in fifth.
The Warriors led the league in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on Animo Leadership. Camarillo-Towles in the win.
