The Bellmont Braves will head out to take on the Mississinewa Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Bellmont barely beat Adams Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Braves were the clear victors by a 23-6 margin over the Flying Jets on Monday. The win was just business as usual for the Braves, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Bella Ashley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bellmont got a massive performance out of Onalee Krueckeberg, who fired off three triples, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-5. Emily Bleke was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Bellmont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Adams Central only posted an OBP of .458.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mississinewa). They never let Northfield get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Thursday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Norsemen recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Like Bellmont, Mississinewa also got a great game from a two-way player: Charleigh Baledge. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Baledge was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jaeli Miller was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those hits marked the first that she has got this season. Another player making a difference was Amiyaa Parr-Inman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Mississinewa pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Bellmont, their record now sits at 3-0.
Both Bellmont and Mississinewa just can't seem to miss. The Braves have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Mississinewa struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bellmont suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Mississinewa when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
