Basketball Game Preview: Manchester Blue Devils vs. Taylor County Vikings

Manchester is 8-2 against Taylor County since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Manchester Blue Devils will host the Taylor County Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Manchester sitting on eight straight victories and Taylor County on three.

Last Saturday, Manchester blew past Harris County, posting a 79-36 win. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 31 points or more this season.

Manchester's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jhiere Terry, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Terry has been hot, having posted ten or more boards the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dre Mcghee, who posted 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Taylor County against Webster County on Saturday as the squad secured a 71-42 win. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Webster County are ranked 533rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Manchester's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for Taylor County, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

Manchester and Taylor County were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but Manchester came up empty-handed after a 43-42 defeat.
