Menahga is 10-0 against Sebeka since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Menahga Braves will head out on the road to face off against the Sebeka Trojans at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Menahga's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
Last Tuesday, Menahga strolled past Verndale with points to spare, taking the game 62-46.
Meanwhile, even though Bertha-Hewitt scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Sebeka still came out on top. Sebeka walked away with a 66-58 victory over Bertha-Hewitt. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sebeka.
Sebeka's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Max Lake led the charge by scoring 18 points along with three steals. Lake hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Christian Berg, who scored 18 points.
Menahga's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Sebeka, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.
Menahga was able to grind out a solid win over Sebeka in their previous matchup back in January, winning 68-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Menahga since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
