The Wharton Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Springstead Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wharton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Wharton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaytee Tyler, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points and seven rebounds. Tyler has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Syrenna Thigpen was another key player, putting up eight points and 18 rebounds.
Wharton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Springstead duked it out withFivay on Friday. Springstead claimed a resounding 51-22 victory over Fivay. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 25 points or more this season.
Springstead's win came from a few key players Wharton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was J'Ziyah Munford, who posted seven points and six steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Coleman, who put up eight points and six boards.
Wharton pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Springstead, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.
