The Lutheran-Northeast Eagles will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Battle Creek Braves at 6:15 p.m. Lutheran-Northeast is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
Lutheran-Northeast suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Friday. Their rough 61-36 defeat to Norfolk Catholic might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Lutheran-Northeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Norfolk Catholic is ranked 74th).
Despite the defeat, Lutheran-Northeast got a solid performance out of Kealy Ranslem, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Scott, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Battle Creek was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 31-27 to Pierce. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Battle Creek has scored all season.
Lutheran-Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Battle Creek, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-2.
