McDowell is a perfect 10-0 against General McLane since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
McDowell barely beat Fort LeBoeuf the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans blew past the Bison 11-5 on Monday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 2, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Jace O'Neill tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Thomas Nies was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Owen Stranko was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four RBI and one stolen base.
McDowell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort LeBoeuf only posted a batting average of .192.
Meanwhile, General McLane got themselves on the board against Erie on Monday, but Erie never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Royals. The win continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won six in a row.
Kellen Chelton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Chelton was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, General McLane got a massive performance out of Jordan Cannon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Donny Burke, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
McDowell's record now sits at 13-5. As for General McLane, their record is now 12-5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. McDowell has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like General McLane struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
McDowell beat General McLane 6-2 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
