Video: Devyn Netz hits walk-off home run
Arizona commit Devyn Netz and Ironwood Ridge continue to climb up the rankings.
California annually has some of the best softball teams and talent from throughout the country. Case in point: last week's 25th Annual Dave Kops Tournament of Champions in Arizona featuring many of the top high school teams from the West Coast where seven of the final eight teams were from the Golden State.
The lone non-Southern California squad left standing was
Ironwood Ridge (Tucson, Ariz.). The Nighthawks beat Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) in the third-place game and their lone loss was 4-2 to champion
Los Alamitos (Calif.). Ironwood Ridge, led by Arizona commits
Allie Skaggs and
Devyn Netz, enters this week's rankings at No. 23 overall.
Los Alamitos, meanwhile, rolled off five-straight wins to take home the championship. Senior
Tyler Denhart, a Southern Utah commit, pitched complete games in both the semifinals and the Griffins' 6-2 title win over
Crescenta Valley (La Crescenta, Calif.) as they move up to No. 3 overall.

4. (2) Norco (Calif.), 11-1Norco lost its first game of the season, 2-1 to Mater Dei. The Cougars bounced back with two impressive wins.
Trenton now has five shutout wins on the season.
The Falcons fell to No. 3 Los Alamitos in Tournament of Champions final in Arizona.
Forney dropped four spots after losing two close games to start March.
8. (6) Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, Texas), 18-2Both Barbers Hill's losses were 1-0 games.
Sophomore pitcher
Jordyn Hustey and Cooper City are off to a 6-0 start, including a 6-1 win over previously No. 11 Coral Springs Charter.
The Saints are loaded with talent and have outscored their opponents 101-8.
Season begins March 23.
Winter Springs dropped its first game of the season but have already bounced back.
Dropped out: O'Connor (Phoenix), Hartsville (S.C.), Bradshaw Mountain (Prescott Valley, Ariz.), Oakleaf (Orange Park, Fla.)
On the bubble
Oakleaf fell for the first time this season on Tuesday.
