Softball Recap: Jefferson Wins Going Away Against Leto

Jefferson won the last time they faced Leto and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dragons put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 12-2 win. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Madisen Fleming made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sophia Alvarado was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Tarajii Thornton was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Jefferson's record is now 8-6. As for Leto, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Coming up, Jefferson will take on Lennard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leto, they will challenge King at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
