Softball Recap: Arbor View Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Arbor View had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Faith Lutheran on Wednesday. The Aggies blew past the Crusaders 17-7. Considering the Aggies have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Addison Cordsen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Arbor View got a massive performance out of Kelsie Phares, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, Phares posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Francesca Hull was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Arbor View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.

Arbor View is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Faith Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arbor View will face off against Bakersfield Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Faith Lutheran, they will take on Bishop Gorman at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gaels have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
