The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Macon-East Montgomery Academy in their matchups with Lee-Scott Academy: they've now lost five in a row.
Macon-East Montgomery Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Johnson, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Keagan Roney was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
It was another big night for Haiden Harper, who scored 35 points along with three steals for Lee-Scott Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Harper has scored at least a third of Lee-Scott Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chapman Harris, who scored a point along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Macon-East Montgomery Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Lee-Scott Academy, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Macon-East Montgomery Academy will take on Glenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Glenwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Macon-East Montgomery Academy in Alabama (Glenwood is ranked 100th, while Macon-East Montgomery Academy is ranked 319th). As for Lee-Scott Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Springwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Springwood will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
