Baseball Recap: Seymour Comes Up Short

Seymour's last matchup with Heritage could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Saturday. The Eagles came up short against the Mountaineers, falling 14-3. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Mountaineers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Miller Elijah was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Corbin Johnson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Seymour's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Seymour will square off against Fulton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Heritage, they will challenge Loudon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
