Baseball Recap: Tolleson Makes It Five in a Row at Home

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Tolleson and Valley Vista, and Tolleson kept the tradition alive. The Wolverines came out on top against the Monsoon by a score of 5-2 on Monday. For the Wolverines, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Monsoon walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Tolleson let JOSE CORRALES and AMARI LUCAS run wild. CORRALES scored a run while going 3-for-3, while LUCAS scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three hits gave CORRALES a new career-high. FEDERICO IBARRA also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Tolleson pushed their record up to 13-9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Valley Vista, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Tolleson will have a chance to go back-to-back against Valley Vista: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
