The Legacy Early College Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy Early College will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Legacy Early College's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 46-37 victory over Providence Day. Given Legacy Early College's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in South Carolina, while the Chargers are ranked 29th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Gray Collegiate Academy was beaten by the Eagles 66-30 on Saturday. Gray Collegiate Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Gray Collegiate Academy had strong showings from Jordan Mintz, who scored ten points, and Raina Mayers, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Legacy Early College has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.
Everything went Legacy Early College's way against the War Eagles in their previous matchup last Monday as the Lions made off with a 58-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Legacy Early College since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
