The Randleman Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Oak Grove Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Randleman's game was all tied up 30-30 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 64-60 victory over Northwest Guilford. The victory was just what Randleman needed coming off of a 58-36 defeat in their prior match.
Randleman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Farlow out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Farlow also pulled down eight+ rebounds for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Price, who scored 14 points along with three blocks.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 76-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trinity.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Loucas Shoaf and Dominic Payne. Payne had a great game and scored 34 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Meanwhile, Shoaf was balling out in the loss, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Oak Grove were working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Randleman pushed their record up to 3-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Oak Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's match: Randleman have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 6 threes per game. It's a different story for Oak Grove, though, as they've been averaging only 5.7 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Randleman didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Oak Grove in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 52-46 win. Does Randleman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oak Grove turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
