This season hasn't been kind to The High Point Eagles, who are still winless after their tenth contest. They were beaten by Flowers 80-0 on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for High Point in their matchups with Flowers: they've now lost seven in a row.
Flowers' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrian Favors, who threw for 85 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Joshua Jefferson, who rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown.
High Point's defeat was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.7 points per game. As for Flowers, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
High Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Flowers will be playing at home against Bladensburg at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bladensburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Flowers is ranked 36th).
