Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for East Wake

East Wake waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 15-9 margin over the Rolesville Rams. Considering the Warriors have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Keith made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. Keith was even better at the plate, scoring four runs while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Madison Smith and Alissa Flood did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Flood went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave Flood a new career-high. Jaimee Fowler was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

East Wake's record now sits at 10-5. As for Rolesville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Wake will host Wake Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Guardians have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Rolesville, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Knightdale at 4:30 p.m. The Rams are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
