The Crescent Tigers fell victim to the Daniel Lions''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 50-0 loss at the hands of the Lions. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, Crescent couldn't push the score so high this time.
Daniel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kolton Chapman, who rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 123 yards and a touchdown. Kari Bennett was in the mix as well, providing Daniel with two touchdowns.
Crescent's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 6-4. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Daniel, Pendleton, and Abbeville. As for Daniel, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Crescent will head out on the road to face off against Chapman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chapman is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Daniel, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Blue Ridge at 7:30 p.m. Blue Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Daniel is ranked eighth).
