St. Marys put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Northern Potter Panthers with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Flying Dutch, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Avery Eckels made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, St. Marys let Kelsie Fledderman and Addison Beimel run wild. Fledderman scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Beimel scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Beimel also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Gornati, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

St. Marys was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Potter only posted a batting average of .125.

St. Marys' win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Northern Potter, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Coming up, St. Marys will be playing at home against DuBois Central Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Flying Dutch's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Northern Potter, they will head out to square off against Coudersport at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
