The Tabernacle Torches lost against the Evangel Christian Lightning back in December of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Tabernacle took a 35-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Evangel Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tabernacle has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evangel Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Casadie Dixon, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hallie Wells, who scored seven points.
Tabernacle's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Evangel Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tabernacle will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cornerstone Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Evangel Christian will finish 2023 at home by hosting Banks Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Banks Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
