The Rancho San Juan Trailblazers will venture away from home to square off against the Pacific Grove Breakers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Rancho San Juan turned things around against Stevenson on Monday. They put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 14-4 win. The Trailblazers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Chelsey Misner made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Misner was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Delylah Magdaleno was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Melony Erazo-Chavez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.
Rancho San Juan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stevenson only posted an OBP of .348.
Meanwhile, Pacific Grove waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Breakers, who have now won three games by eight runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Alex Giammanco's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emma Von Ruden, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Destiny Buckles was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Pacific Grove's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rancho San Juan, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rancho San Juan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .638. However, it's not like Pacific Grove struggles in that department as they've averaged .491. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rancho San Juan suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Pacific Grove when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can the Trailblazers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
