Volleyball Recap: St. Cecilia Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Nathie Krikac and Aspen Anderson

It was a good run, but St. Cecilia unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Thayer Central Titans by a score of 3-2. While the Bluehawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Titans 25-21 in the first set.

St. Cecilia came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-22, 25-23, 17-25, 15-13.

St. Cecilia's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aspen Anderson, who had 21 digs, and Nathie Krikac, who had 32 digs and 15 kills. Krikac has been hot recently, having posted ten or more kills the last four times she's played.

St. Cecilia's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 23-10. As for Thayer Central, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-5.

St. Cecilia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thayer Central, they will challenge Freeman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
