Colfax has gone 5-0 against Wheatland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Colfax Falcons will challenge the Wheatland Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Colfax is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.5 goals per game this season.

Colfax took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Marysville onto the board and left with an 8-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Their offense was hitting Marysville from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Emma Menth led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Wheatland has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 17. They came up short against Oakmont on Tuesday, falling 7-1. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 947th, while the Vikings are ranked 373rd).

Colfax's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six matches. As for Wheatland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13-3.

Colfax took their win against Wheatland in their previous matchup on January 7th by a conclusive 9-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colfax since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
