The biggest upset of the week belonged to Westminster, who took down 100th ranked Westminster, 42-38.
Wilbraham & Monson Academy moved up to 60 from 250 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Colonial. The Titans were able to make the jump by beating the Titans 40-0.
Canterbury's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Donavon Jackson threw for 112 and one touchdown and Ryan Moore had 99 yards receiving. On the ground Cory Bell chipped in 231 yards. Julien Higgs helped Canterbury's passing attack out by catching two balls for nine yards.
Suffield Academy's Jake Lazarus and CJ Moore have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Lazarus has thrown for 202 yards this season, while Moore, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has six catches for 103 yards. The Saints' Bell leads the league in rushing yards with 436.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Canterbury takes on the Tigers. Ken Parson's team is currently in third, while Suffield Academy is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Saints and Andrew Gamere's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Canterbury comes in having scored 86 this season, while the Tigers have scored 73. The Saints scored 49 points last week as they topped Williston Northampton.
Tabor Academy was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fifth in Colonial. The Seawolves defeated Pomfret School 20-14 earlier in the week.
