DeKalb County has gone a perfect 6-0 against Cumberland County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Jets at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in DeKalb County's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Cumberland County has been banged up by 19 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
DeKalb County's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past White County 10-0. Considering the Tigers have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kora Kilgore was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, DeKalb County let Bryna Pelham and Zayleigh Bain run wild. Pelham went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Bain went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Bain a new career-high. Tatum Young was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
DeKalb County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.
Clarkrange hit Cumberland County with a six-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jets came up short against the Buffaloes, falling 10-2.
DeKalb County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cumberland County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
Everything went DeKalb County's way against Cumberland County in their previous meeting back in March, as DeKalb County made off with a 15-0 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Jets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
