Massaponax is 9-1 against the Indians since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Massaponax Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Stafford Indians at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Massaponax has eight straight wins, the Indians have 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Massaponax put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat North Stafford 69-28 at home. Given Massaponax's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Wolverines are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Takiera Ramey, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 33 points and nine assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Kyra Price was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Stafford had to suffer through a rough 58-23 loss at the hands of the Bears. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Stafford in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost seven in a row.
Massaponax's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Stafford, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
Everything came up roses for Massaponax against the Indians in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 77-22 win. With Massaponax ahead 47-17 at the half, the game was all but over already.
