Gray's Creek is a perfect 8-0 against Jack Britt since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Gray's Creek Bears will be playing at home against the Jack Britt Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Gray's Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Douglas Byrd get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bears with their most commanding win of the season.
Tyler Jasinski made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Riley Peterson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Peyton Stanton was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Gray's Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.4.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jack Britt, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Westover on Wednesday. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.
Cameron Byers was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-2. Jack Britt is undefeated when Byers posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Josiah Sloan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
The win got Gray's Creek back to even at 5-5. As for Jack Britt, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Gray's Creek took their win against Jack Britt in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Will Gray's Creek repeat their success, or does Jack Britt have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
