It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Jeffersontown Chargers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Holy Cross with a 70-65 victory. The victory was just what Jeffersontown needed coming off of a 94-69 loss in their prior game.
Despite the loss, Holy Cross still got an impressive performance from Jacob Hand, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds. Hand scored a full 38.5% of Holy Cross' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Loftis, who scored 13 points.
Jeffersontown's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Holy Cross, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jeffersontown will take on Butler at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Holy Cross, they will head out on the road to face off against Providence at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
