Basketball Recap: Richmond Drops Highest Score of Season Against Greenfield-Central

Richmond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 60-44 to the Greenfield-Central Cougars. On the bright side, the 44- point effort marked the Red Devils' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Greenfield-Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbey Malet, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Izzy Silcox, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 13 points.

Richmond's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Greenfield-Central, their record now sits at 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Richmond will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Muncie Central at 12:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Greenfield-Central, they will take on Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Cougars their first taste of in-conference action this season.
