The Damascus Hornets suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 66-39 loss at the hands of Magruder. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Damascus has suffered against Magruder since January 3, 2020.
Magruder's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Dabbondanza, who scored 19 points along with six assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Sekou Bangoura, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds.
Damascus' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Magruder, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Damascus will square off against Northwood at TBD on Friday. As for Magruder, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Einstein at 7:15 p.m. Einstein will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Magruder is ranked 54th).
