While it was all tied up 24-24 at halftime, the Kongiganak Wolverines were not quite the Eek Cougars's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell 52-44 to the Cougars. Kongiganak has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Kongiganak still got an impressive performance from Jarrett Brown, who scored 27 points. That was a full 61.4% of Kongiganak's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sam Lewis, who scored eight points.
Kongiganak has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Eek, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Ket'acik and Aapalluk Memorial the next time they take the court. Kongiganak will head out to face Ket'acik and Aapalluk Memorial at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Eek will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
