Byrnes Rebels came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 78-60 win over Boiling Springs. Given James F. Byrnes' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Boiling Springs is ranked 141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kayzzin McDowell was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Fowler, who scored 14 points.
James F. Byrnes has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Boiling Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
