The Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves will square off against the Danville Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Crawfordsville.
Sophie Braun made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crawfordsville only posted an OBP of .273.
Meanwhile, while Danville put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Frankfort. The Warriors blew past the Hot Dogs 12-0. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Autumn Muncy looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Addison Davis and Allie Gunter did most of the damage at the plate: Davis went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Gunter went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Caroline Armstrong also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
The victory got Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory back to even at 11-11. As for Danville, their record is now 15-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Danville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory might still be hurting after the 19-0 loss they got from Danville in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
