In what's become a running theme this season, the Lincoln Southeast Knights gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lincoln High 78-50 at home. Given Lincoln Southeast's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Lincoln High is ranked 198th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Taye Moore was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jake Hilkemann, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Lincoln High lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brady Nick, who scored 12 points. Anania Ruba was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Lincoln Southeast has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Lincoln High, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Lincoln Southeast will head out on the road to challenge Lincoln East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln East knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Lincoln Southeast likes a good challenge. As for Lincoln High, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fremont at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. Fremont will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
