On Friday Battle Mountain take on Steamboat Springs at 7:00 PM. Battle Mountain are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.
Battle Mountain might be getting used to good results now that the squad have three wins in a row. They took their game against Summit last Friday 26-14. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (20) and coasted on those for the win.
Meanwhile, after a dominant victory in their contest three weeks ago, Steamboat Springs were humbled. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 20-49 punch to the gut against Palisade. Steamboat Springs were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 6-35.
Battle Mountain's win lifted them to 5-1 while Steamboat Springs's defeat dropped them down to 2-4. In their victory, Battle Mountain relied heavily on junior Garrett Anderson, who rushed for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns. Steamboat Springs will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
