Lewis Central had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Creston on Monday. The Titans blew past the Panthers 8-1. Considering the Titans have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Lewis Central's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Creston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lewis Central will challenge Denison-Schleswig at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Monarchs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Creston, they will square off against Atlantic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.17 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
