After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Lyme, the Grasso Tech Eagles were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They snuck past Harvard Ellis Tech with a 61-55 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Grasso Tech's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jerry Santiago, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Charis Johnson, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists.
Grasso Tech now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Harvard Ellis Tech, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grasso Tech will challenge Norwich RVT at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Norwich RVT is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Harvard Ellis Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Windham RVT at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
