The Del Norte Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Sandia at home and fell 65-12. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Del Norte has scored all season.
Sandia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Audri Wright, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Wright continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kaiyah Benally was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Del Norte has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Sandia, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Del Norte will square off against Laguna Acoma at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Laguna Acoma is ranked 90th, while Del Norte is ranked 73rd). As for Sandia, they will be playing at home against Farmington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmington will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
