Football Recap: Powdersville Drops Highest Score of Season Against Broome

Powdersville scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 53-45 to the Broome Centurions. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (35), the Patriots still had to take the loss.

Broome got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyqwon Booker out in front who rushed for 238 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Reece Waugerman was in the mix as well, providing the Centurions with two scores.

With the loss, Powdersville broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2. As for Broome, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Powdersville will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southside Christian at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Patriots' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Broome, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 40-7 win against Blacksburg on the 26th.
