Skyview hasn't had much luck against Vista PEAK Prep recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wolverines will challenge the Bison at 11:00 a.m. Skyview will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Skyview barely beat Adams City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Eagles on Thursday. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Kaleb Rodriguez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Skyview is undefeated when Rodriguez posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carlos Carrillo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Skyview's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Humberto Chavez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Skyview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Vista PEAK Prep didn't have quite enough to beat Northfield on Tuesday and fell 10-8. The defeat continues a trend for the Bison in their meetings with the Nighthawks: they've now lost four in a row.
Domenic Montoya and Karter Robertson did some serious damage despite the final result: Montoya got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI, while Robertson went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ace Kelly, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Vista PEAK Prep's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-5. As for Skyview, their record is now 8-6.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Skyview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Vista PEAK Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .451. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Skyview couldn't quite finish off Vista PEAK Prep in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 and fell 3-1. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
