Baseball Recap: Mooresville Snags Tenth Victory in Last 12 Games

Mooresville won against A.L. Brown last Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the West Cabarrus Wolverines. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Tanner Waugh and Luke Modrak did most of the damage at the plate: Waugh went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Modrak scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That home run was Waugh's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Southern Smith-Tilley, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Mooresville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Mooresville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for West Cabarrus, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9.

Mooresville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolverines: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
