The Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors will square off against the Robertsdale Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cottage Hill Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Foley on Monday. In other batting news, Cottage Hill Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Jaycee Mosley, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Gartman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Robertsdale had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 9-6.
Robertsdale also got a great performance from Ashton Mckey as she pitched 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Those hits were Mckey's first of the season.
On the hitting side, Robertsdale let Kahlen Morgan and Braylin Blocker run wild. Morgan scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4, while Blocker went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those stolen bases marked the first that Morgan snagged this season. Kinsley Stevens was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. The win got Robertsdale back to even at 5-5.
