The Central Valley Hawks''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Merced, falling 62-21. Central Valley has struggled against Merced recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Central Valley still got an impressive performance from Anthony Ramirez, who picked up 200 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Ramirez's longest reception was for an incredible 76 yards.
Central Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Merced, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Central Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Merced will be playing at home against Bella Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bella Vista will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 497th, while Merced is ranked 172nd).
