In what's become a running theme this season, the Lytle Pirates gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 67-28 victory over Cotulla at home. Winning may never get old, but Lytle sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Lytle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Calyssa Sevier, who almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. Sevier is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Katara Whitfield, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Lytle is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. As for Cotulla, they dropped their record down to 3-19 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Lytle will face off against Dilley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dilley has now lost 19 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18. As for Cotulla, they will be playing at home against Natalia at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Natalia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 44 on Friday.
