The Butler Golden Tornado will square off against the West Mifflin Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Butler 3.7, West Mifflin 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Butler turned things around against Kiski Area on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Cavaliers.

Nolan Stefaniak looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Butler is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 7-8 otherwise.
At the plate, Boden Lenyk was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Trent Best was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
The home team had won the previous six meetings between West Mifflin and Belle Vernon, and West Mifflin kept the tradition alive. The Titans had just enough and edged out the Leopards 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Titans have posted against the Leopards since April 30, 2018.
Jake Martina tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chase Maggio, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Kurta, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
West Mifflin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Belle Vernon only posted a batting average of .269.
West Mifflin has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Butler, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Butler has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like West Mifflin struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
