It was a good run, but the Mayflower Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were the victim of a tough 68-45 defeat at the hands of Lamar. Mayflower was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lamar apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Wednesday.
It was another big night for Lane Miller, who scored 32 points along with three steals for Lamar. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ben Noonan, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and six assists.
Mayflower's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Lamar, they pushed their record up to 21-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Mayflower does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lamar, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on February 29th.
