Softball Recap: David Thibodaux Triumphs

While David Thibodaux's win against Teurlings Catholic wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. David Thibodaux skirted past Teurlings Catholic 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 13th.

Morgan Malveaux made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. What's more, she gave up only three walks, the fewest she's had over her last seven matches. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylie Dronet, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Amalie Harvison, who scored a run while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

David Thibodaux's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Teurlings Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. David Thibodaux will head out to square off against Opelousas Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Teurlings Catholic, they will venture away from home to challenge Central at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
