Given Life Oak Cliff's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 602nd, while Gateway Charter Academy is ranked 1417th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Khing Williams, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Williams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bobby Williams, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Life Oak Cliff's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Gateway Charter Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Life Oak Cliff does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gateway Charter Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-59 victory vs. Inspired Vision on the 9th.
